Beyond the Curriculum
At Sophia High School, we believe in a future of education in which children are given the chance to be creative thinkers.
This involves offering them an array of opportunities to explore beyond the curriculum, led by our fully-qualified teachers who are dedicated to providing high-quality online schooling in a way that makes sense for the 21st century.
Performing Arts & Public Speaking
In the last week of January 2021, we were thrilled to offer our students a Performing and Dramatic Arts workshop, led by West End London Musical Star Maria Coyne. Trained at the world-renowned Italia Conte, Maria has played some of the biggest roles on the West End Stage - including Gilinda in Wicked, Christine in Phantom of the Opera, Anna in The King and I and Kathy Seldon in Singing in the Rain, but to name a few.
Maria's workshop introduced the children to the core concepts of the dramatic arts, as an important part of the English curriculum - as we develop confidence, performance and public speaking skills in our students.
Maria is also offering her popular online Performing Arts Camp, both to Sophia High and external students, during half-term break. Head over to Sophia X to register your interest.
British Science Week
British Science Week is the chance for our Sophia High students to put on their lab coats and become curious scientists as they take part in a wide range of activities from Moving Liquid Art, to Chromatography Flowers, to making A Microscopic Model of Blood. Science Week is also the opportunity for our students to develop their critical thinking skills, with each activity allowing for practical, hands-on, learning with the opportunity to discuss the "how's and why's".
This year, Science Week is taking place from Monday 8th to Friday 12th March 2021 - We are looking forward to seeing our scientists' work!
