The summer is a time to reconnect with your loved ones as well as explore something new. With travel being once again an option for us all, we hope you are spending your time enjoying being home, or investigating potential new homes, and of course finding time to relax.

Exciting news from SHS! An opportunity recently arose for us to work with the team at the Excellence in Expat Education Awards. The EEE Awards are an independent organisation, established in response to the needs of parents who work internationally. Their experienced team comprises of educators/parents whose rigorous and extensive inspection process gives relocating families insights into the best school for their children. Some of our student and parent community were involved in our inspection, and so you will be eager to know the outcome. We are thrilled to share that their report is now available online and that Sophia High School is their recommended online school. Not only that, we are their featured school of the month! Congratulations to the whole SHS community for sharing what we do with such confidence and clarity!

As Early Years numbers rise, we look forward to our new EY families joining along with our returning families of all ages for our first online social event later this month, Summer Family Fun. Keeping our community at the forefront of what we do, this social event is designed to help families stay connected over the long break, children keep in touch with their online friends, and perhaps inspire a meet-up for families who are in the same location. Get ready to join in!

We are also pleased to announce that our Director of Early Years, Ms. Vanessa Temple, has been accepted onto the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Global Schools Advocate Training programme. This will allow our teachers and students to be at the forefront of discussions, raising awareness and working towards creative solutions supporting the SDG’s, which will be shared with the SDSN community and beyond. We are ‘The Planet’s Favourite School’ and we will continue to bring global awareness and develop a sense of belonging to an informed and committed community for our families.

As always, we are happy to support your education needs as we progress through the summer months and towards the start of the new school year. Classes are filling up and so please be reminded to let Ms. Margaret know your intention for AY22/23.
