Sophia High School Levels Up with New Esports Lead!

🚀 We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of Tyler Wilson as our new #Esports Lead Teacher at Sophia High School! Tyler joins us at a pivotal moment as we continue to push the boundaries of education and prepare students for the digital future.

His role will be crucial in:

✅ Elevating our esports adventures

✅ Collaborating with Chatsworth Schools to roll out BTEC in Esports for ages 14+

✅ Building on our trailblazing work with British Esports and Leadership Skills Foundation

Did you know? We’ve already guided our first cohort of 15 pupils through the new Level 1 Esports Leader’s qualification! 🏆

In Tyler’s words: “I’m incredibly excited to join the team at Sophia High School as the new Esports Lead. We will continue to oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programmes in esports, helping to bridge the gap from secondary education to further education, as well as working with external stakeholders to facilitate development opportunities in the sector.

Esports is a growth area, not just in the UK, but globally. Our education platform is designed to support the progression to the jobs of the future. In 2022, there was a combined esports consumer audience of over 530 million people, with projections showing rapid growth potential to exceed 640 million by 2025.

With the recent announcement of the Olympic Esports Games, it’s undeniable that esports is becoming increasingly relevant to current and future generations. 🏅

It’s my pleasure to guide the development of esports for the years to come in this new role, helping to mould the future leaders of tomorrow, introducing them to innovative technologies and supporting their individual development to maximise their outcomes.”

🧑‍🏫 About Tyler: Tyler is what we call triple threat in the sector; a UK-qualified teacher, industry professional, and leader with a focus on esports, having worked in surrounding industries for years. With a focus on individual pupil development, Tyler works closely with individuals to engage, develop, and support them both academically and personally through their love of gaming.

Tyler’s expertise in running workshops for summer camps, classes for traditional schools, and more brings a unique perspective to meeting pupils’ needs. His ability to help students translate their unique skills, knowledge, and behaviours from the classroom to the workplace makes him a fantastic fit to lead our growing esports provision and direct new global ventures in esports.

Join us in welcoming Tyler to the Sophia High School family! 🎉
